The text also covers the main causes (autoimmune, idiopathic, genetic predisposition in breeds such as Keeshonds and Samoyeds, and other risk factors such as obesity and Cushing’s syndrome), classic symptoms (polyuria/polydipsia, polyphagia, weight loss, etc.), diagnostics (blood glucose, glucosuria, fructosamine), and conventional therapy (diet, insulin therapy, monitoring, management of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia) are presented in detail.
